🇷🇺 Russian Satellites, Houthi Missiles: Is Moscow Helping Target Saudi Arabia?

A disturbing intelligence picture is emerging in the Gulf.

An Associated Press investigation reports that Russian reconnaissance satellites may have been helping Iran-aligned Houthi forces identify and monitor strategic Saudi targets.

The investigation, drawing on satellite tracking by Geneva-based AURORAH GeoSignal Intelligence, identified recurring Russian satellite activity over locations subsequently targeted by Houthi and Iraqi militia attacks.

Among the reported targets were sections of Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, a critical artery for the Kingdom's energy exports.

The allegations raise serious questions about Moscow's role in the expanding regional confrontation. Iran's military relationship with the Houthis is already well documented. The possibility of Russian satellite intelligence supporting their targeting capabilities introduces a much wider geopolitical dimension.

However, correlation is not proof of direct intelligence transfers. No conclusive evidence has yet established that Moscow supplied targeting coordinates to the Houthis.

The strategic question is no longer simply who is firing the missiles. It is who is helping identify the targets.
